Mom and dad decided to give me the Asrock G41M-GS3 motherboard as birthday present :)
It isn't my birthday yet, but it should arrive within a few days (we placed an order at a web shop). Going to place that boy into my system ASAP, while also trading in my 2x1GB DDR2 sticks for 2x2GB DDR3 (at least if the computer guy accepts, as I know that my 2 GB of DDR2 memory is worth more then 4 GB of DDR3).

Thanks :)

I put a lot of efforts into this system, so I hope it works as I want it to and that it's blazing fast when I get & the new motherboard, lol.
Also fixed a typo in the first post, my PC has a 320 GB HDD, lol.

Going to reinstall Windows 7 (damn, I just updated the system before getting the good news) on that new motherboard, lets see how well it runs...

My dads PC ran really, but then REALLY fine with this hardware (as in CPU and GPU). Playing games was no problem. But his motherboard wasn't as old as this Asus one. Oh well.

I traded in my 2 GB DDR2 memory for 4 GB DDR3 1333 MHz memory. It's the highest which that new motherboard supports. 25 euro's extra, but oh well, it's like 4 times faster then my DDR2 memory.

So I'm back to waiting :P

Aaand, I got the motherboard in today :)

I immediately put it in my system, lol.
It runs like a maniac now, adjusted the jumpers so it overclocks my processor's FSB to 1333 MHz so it supports my memory.
Reinstalled Windows 7.

I haven't got time to configure and test the boy yet. I will test it tomorrow with a nice little game of Bejeweled 3, heh.

Overclocking produces more heat. Make sure you can disperse it or create better air flow from front to back inside the case.

Well, I can install the Cooler Master fan. Plus the fan of my PSU is pointed towards my CPU.

The cooler master is probably a good idea. :)

Okay, then I have to take out the motherboard again, as I don't have any opening at the back of the case.

No big deal though, I have all the time I need tomorrow :)

Didn't get to do anything to the cooling system lately. CPU-Z reported that the CPU still was running as it's stock speed.

As for the GPU, it seems to be working at it's best now (yay!). I played some games (Portal 2, Bejeweled 3, Team Fortress 2) all at highest settings and this thing doesn't seem to give a damn. Watching YouTube video's in 1080p HD also is a breeze (although this screen doesn't support HD).

I did get some money at my birthday (95 euro's to be exact) and I might be buying either a new case or a new screen.
If it's a case, I am totally in love with this case. As for the price, I'm going to pay the extra 5 euro's anyway when I decide to buy it. This system may need some better cooling (the GPU's memory core is hitting the 50 degrees when "idle", 60 degrees Celcius when playing Portal 2)

If it's going to be a screen, I'm not sure. I might take this one: link
The screen I have now really is okay for now. Although a bigger screen really is better. I may even use this one as extra monitor.

EDIT: I'm going with the case. I think it's more useful then a screen. Maybe I'm also going to buy a bit of thermal paste (I dunno) and I'm going to attach the cooler master fan in the case when and if I get it.

EDIT2: Purchased the case. It should arrive between now and tuesday.

A monitor would be nice but that case is sweet for sure. I think you made the right choice. :) About the thermal paste though. You need to have that between the heatsink and cpu before you run anything. Make sure of this. I would not want to see you hurt a nice system. :)

Well, I attached my computer to my television. So that's for the new monitor, lol.
I'll take a few euro's with me (is 5 enough?), so I can buy a tube of thermal paste.
Also, with a Cooler Master fan, how must it be orientated? The big logo on top? ???

But about my PSU, a friend of mine told me, when I put this system under load, the PSU will not hold the load and break. Is this really the case?
He also told me to never, ever attach a HDMI cable to my GPU and play games or watch movies, or the PSU would break, too.
He told me that this PSU was a good replacement:
http://www.be-quiet.net/be-quiet.net/index.php?StoryID=17&ProductID=43&websiteLang=en
(actually that is a good replacement though, the noise level this PSU generates is horrible)

Is my 450 watt PSU going to break soon enough? ???

Your power supply being at 450 watts should have in it a 40 - 50 amp rail. If not then it could fail and damage things.
