Don't ask me why about this. <_< I really don't get this bug or problem in Windows Movie Maker. About reopening a save project and it's saying (Windows Movie Maker cannot open this file). But I am tryng to reopen a old project and it wouldn't. All the project's was made under the same sofeware. That sofeware was running under server pack 3 and now I have server pack 2?
Or I am bringing them from a diffent computer will cause this?
Or is do with the author?
I haven't finsher with the project's. Or the stuipe programe can't do it. I have few thing's in my mind what is causing the probelm. I would like to ask what you guy's thought on this topic.

Don't getting an full error. Just getting Windows Movie Maker cannot open this file. That's is the error I am getting.
I check the setting under the program. To me they look normal. I try an search for the problem under the sofeware support center.

You gotto be kidding Bigguy! I posted a topic about sever pack 3. Explaning why in that topic..
Well make a long sroty short. My cousin reload my gateway all of it because it's was running so slow. He was saying my step father reload the gateway in a poor piss way before he reload everything for me. My father have it running under sever pack 3 and telling you the truth he didn't done it correcly. That what my cousin said to me. I thought he install the major update for me is sever pack 3 but he didn't. That is how I got stuck with pack 2 for right now . He is a computer greek big time.

Yes I remember now. I would wait and upgrade the service pack and then all should work fine.

I have another guess.
Running Norton and trying to open up or download older stuff sometimes dosent match.
So it is possible norton is keeping you from opening this old file wherever it came from.
For those of you that remember I got a pinball program through this forum. I tried 1,000,000 times to download it.
Zipped Unzipped or whatever. From a trusted website.
Norton didnt like the old pinball file and kicked it out everytime. Untill I turned download intelligence off for 15 minutes.
Then it took 2 seconds to get what I wanted.
Still hold over 16 million high score. LOL

Hi Shadow...
My version of Movie Maker would not open your files...so....
Ok, I have managed to open your project files but here's what I had to do:-
I downloaded and installed a small free program called Unlocker.
Then
I navigated to c:\Program Files, right clicked on the Movie Maker folder and clicked Unlocker in the right click menu. Highlighted the entry in the next small window that opened and clicked the UNLOCK tab.
Ok....
Then I right clicked on the Movie Maker folder again and renamed it to Movie Maker333 ..(You can't uninstall Movie Maker)
After that I installed Movie Maker v 2 and your files opened no problem.
If you wish to do all that, I have uploaded a zip file to my server for you to download.
It contains two .exe files....
Unlocker1.9.1.exe
and
mm20enu.exe (Movie Maker v 2.0)
Install Unlocker first as described above.
(When you install mm20ene.exe you may get a "Can't modify a file" warning..ignore it and tell it to continue)
Here is the link for the zip file....
http://nofrillspropertyspain.com/graf/moviemaker2.zip
Good luck if you go for it...

I will go for it. Because I really wanted the file's be albe to up. So I can get them done. And upload them to youtube and let my family see them.
I do really thank you for doing this for me.
So just asking does that program upgrade or remove my version of move maker?

No it does not remove your version of Movie Maker, all you are doing is renaming the Movie Maker folder so that you can install version 2.0 in the same place (You cannot have two folders with the same name in the same place)
If you should wish to return to YOUR version, simply rename or delete the new Movie Maker folder then change the name of the FIRST folder you renamed back to its original name (Movie Maker)
By the way, if in your original project you had any images or sound files, you would need to find and insert them in the project.
Each of your project files I managed to open contained a single frame with a transition only and no sound...
Hope that helps..
Of course, even after doing all that, you may still not be able to open them on your computer depending on other factors like which version of XP you have, which Service Pack etc.
Sometimes it is wiser to start your projects over using the program and system you have rather than changing things around. This must be your decision of course....
Below is a screenshot of your open project showing that the audio files are missing....

I have the version you upload on here on my Flash Drive. I will keep it there if I needed it later down the futher. Who know's!
I do thank you for your big help with this issue
