What is Silverlight

Good Day Folks. I have a question. What is Silverlight ? It came installed on my rig but I never even opened the program.
This will help me learn about my computer

OK so does it use my Mini Wireless N Card with Bluetooth?
Also being installed at the factory might cause me to need to update it before I use it Right? or is it a part of the auto updates.

Silverlight is a set of tools/software that is used for GUI/video streaming/audio etc for desktops and mobile devices. It more or less, is
the Microsoft version of Adobe Flash.

Take a gander here to learn more about Silverlight. Most users will simply experience Silverlight the same as they do Flash. Developers on the otherhand
will have a greater interest in the following link.

I do use Adobe flash I guess so I wonder if Silverlight is faster with W7 ?
