coffee + Laptop =

Ok so I got a question for all you guru's here. A friend of mine thought she would give her laptop a coffee one morning to see if it was smart enough to drink it. Of course it wasn't, lol. She turned it off in time I THINK but I have not seen it yet. She also stated that she has dried it out. I don't really believe this though. I guess it all depends on how long after the drink of coffee it was before she turned it on. The laptop is an Acer Aspire 1 and I think I will need to take it apart to clean the keyboard and check for internal damage. Does anyone have any hints or anything that would be good to know before I open it up. ???

Well bigguy
My Laptop is about a Year Old
I have spliied Beer on it 3 Times
The Volume control on the top of the Keyboard stopped Indicating but Worked
It started to work fine after the Laptop dried out
I had to unstick a Couple of Keys also
Other than that it dosent seem to mind Beer !
I do plan to go in and Clean it after the warranty is up !
I will use !
Air in the Can You Know
A Soft Cloth and some Contact Cleaner also Aerosol
Contact Cleaner can often be used to Flood an Area with Liquid that Dries Much Faster than Alcohol
And Leaves No Residue !
I Reccomend Only using Alcohol on something like the Tip of a QTip !
To go in Small Places !

I suppose it all depends on how much coffee was spilt and if she takes sugar. Sugar can be a real PITA

After the odd spillages here I have used the anti septic wipes you can get for cleaning wounds and grazes, just wrapping it around a cotton bud. That works a treat and the Mrs works at the hospital which is handy.
