CD/DVD Drive problems (64-bit)
«

So I've been having this problem actually for the longest time but haven't booted a setup CD in such a long time that it never bothered me until just recently. So what happens is when I put in some type of CD with some kind of setup.exe or related, sometimes my CD/DVD drive makes this weird kind of noise (I uploaded a recoding
here
for you guys to listen to what happens to my CD/DVD) and then it fails to load my CD, forcing me to take out my CD while in the process of trying to boot the CD and then eventually makes my D drive disappear (this I can fix with Microsoft's Fix-It) here's some of the technical information.
CD/DVD Drive: MATSHITA DVD-RAM UJ880AS
Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit)
Previous Operating System: Windows Vista Home Premium (64-bit)
My Computer: Asus K50IJ
That's all I can think of right now that I need to provide. Hopefully someone can think of something to help me because this is just a bit irritating and I actually just did a system restore just yesterday but it doesn't solve the problem as the problem was there ever since I upgraded my Vista to 7 because the drive did the same thing when I was trying to upgrade to 7 with the upgrade disc that I was able to get specially for my computer. So, any ideas?

Yeah I sent an email to Asus Tech Support earlier today regarding my problem. Hopefully they get back to me in time otherwise I'll just call them up. Oh and I forgot to mention, sometimes when it fails to completely load the CD, it results in a blue screen of death....which sucks. And I think the CD/DVD drive or something causes the blue screen. And then I did the system restore to an earlier point in time, and yeah the problems are still there.
If there's anything I did last to my computer, I did remove the UpperFilters string for the drive in regedit, and then I put it back, and then I did a system restore to the date before I made a registry edit. I think it's mainly the CD/DVD drive, but I don't think I can tell until I do a full diagnostic of my computer. Is there one that supposed to come with the CD for my computer? Like the Drivers/Utility CD or the Backup Disc? I assume I will have to boot from the CD in order to do a diagnostic on my system or something.

I don't think diagnostic cd's comes with any system really. (not good cd's anyway) I'll have a look around for a few and see what I can come up with.

You could try this site. It has a few scanners on it and has been around for a long time. There not the best scanners but it's something.
http://www.pcpitstop.com/
That's all I have found for now. There are a lot out there but I am picky as to what goes on my system and I am sure you are as well. I'll keep looking

Things that should be removed in my opinion:
MyWebSearch Toolbar
QuickTime (remove or disable at startup)
Things to add:
crapcleaner (to remove tracking cookies and junk files)
Malwarebytes anti-spyware (If you don't already have it(Free edition is good))
Crap cleaner also fixes registry entries and such so it is a good program to have. There is another program from
www.driverguide.com
that scans your computer for drivers....I THINK that is free without registering...I THINK, lol.

I already have CCleaner (that was formerly known as crap cleaner) so I ran that the other day and I'll look into the malwarebytes software, however I fear it will interrupt with my already installed Kaspersky Internet Security. I will also look at driverguide
EDIT: Here are my Driver Detective results.
However, this came up...
