Web Matrix
« on: January 16, 2011, 07:53:34 PM »
I just installed Microsoft web matrix to see how it is. It is supposed to be a web page creator free from MS. When/if you go to download it it says it's one download....in the end though there are 11 different things that must be installed. This is the first thing I did not like. Then if you want to edit anything or make a site you have to install php and mysql on your computer. So tehre is a bit more work to it then just the few mintes the installer says. I will be trying this in the next couple days and will post back.

I just clicked on the link to see what it's all about..so far so good...When I clicked on the "Watch the short overview video" button it began to install Silverlight without asking first so I killed the page...
As I have managed to successfully build a quantity of web pages/sites without the assistance of Microdaft, I can probably do without this free offering of theirs... O0

Tbh, it's really not what it is cracked up to be. You get 5 templates to play with and then it gives a list of forums, cms's and gallery scripts you can install right from this program...phpbb being one of them. I didn't find SMF in there anywhere.

Installing it ATM.

Looks like a good tool.

And there's 10 downloads for me.Probably I already have one installed.

Maybe you should marry that thing since you love it so much. Do you want to marry it? WELL I WON'T LET YOU! How does that feel?
That thing is probably some sort of raw sewage container. Go ahead and rub your face all over it.
