Most motherboards have a jumper near the cmos battery and label the jumper as CLR, CLEAR, CLEAR CMOS, etc.

Tried that and it either doesn't have that or it didn't work. I will take the case off when I get home and check again as it has been awhile since I played with it. Then I'll let ya know.

Ok I took the battery off the motherboard, changed jumper1 and then turned the power on by the front button to drain any power left on the board, then put it all back and got into cmos. All I needed to do was change the boot order, lol. I don't know why it dodn't work for me before, but I got it now.

it's a very old computer but needs to be redone for a friend. So I guess I will get to re-doing it.

Just to add a bit of further info to this, sometimes you need to set the jumper with the battery in place, and sometimes with it out, so always try both

I have a Question
Suppose I Lose the Password for my Laptop which is 1 Year Old ?
I am Running W7 as you know but !
Is there an Application that Covers XP 7 and all ?
I would be interested in having this type of thing on a Memory Device like an SD Card !
or Disk !
Thanx

Normally with XP, if you start up in Safe Mode and log on as Administrator you can alter, remove, rename or add a password for any of the other Users including yours, then restart in normal mode....This way you don't need software to do it...
