Windows Explorer suddently shut down...
« on: January 02, 2011, 03:56:42 PM »
Okay. So I was trying to uninstall Wyse pocketcloud crap, when suddently I got the message "Windows Explorer stopped responding. Please wait while we search for a solution..." so I waited. "Restarting Windows Explorer..." Windows Explorer quited, and restarted.

Things you should know:
- I'm on a brand new account right now.
- We have Vista Business.
- Sometimes the laptop freezes without any reason.
- I've ran many high-load processes lately (VMWare)

Currently running a full system scan to detect any virusses.

Anyone know what could be the cause?

Maybe you should marry that thing since you love it so much. Do you want to marry it? WELL I WON'T LET YOU! How does that feel?
That thing is probably some sort of raw sewage container. Go ahead and rub your face all over it.

Yep Microsoft Security Essentials found virusses, it's still scanning.

I wonder what it has found.

By brand new account you mean ???
It freezes sometimes you say. Is it getting enough air movement in it from the bottom. Is it overheating at all. ???

Brand new account as in just created.

No it isn't overheating.

Fan is at the side, and it's not blocked.

@ last post: No it isn't.

2 GB. It's using 64-65 (constantly jumping) % of it atm.

Apps running:
- Microsoft Security Essentials (background)
- iTunes (iPod connected)
- Opera
- uTorrent (background)
- NetGear (background)
- Synaptics driver (background)
- HP stuff (Quick Launch buttons driver, wireless manager, etc.)(background)

After I ran the trick, the laptop was 10x times faster and no issues anymore.
It apparently found a few broken files.

Thanks, both!
