Well I haven't touched any other drives in trying to solve this so I'll go and tidy them up and report back with the result  ::)

I'm not sure if your problem was simular to mine, but I initially
thought windows installer didn't fully populate but it infact just put
about 3 pages of white space and when I scrolled down to the bottom the
rest of my programs magically appeared..

I started the machine up in safe mode, then rebooted nomally. POOF,
there they were.

Not very technical I know, but if you, like me, have tried all the
other suggestions and still have problems give it a try.

Just checked and yes I can

Are you on to something bigguy ?

There are options in there for add/remove programs.

Under "User configuration" then to "Administrative templates" Then "Control Panel" then "Add or remove Programs"

In here are settings for Add/remove programs that might help out.

@ alahuin yeah I've tried those and they didn't work  :(

@ bigguy cheers I'll check those out when I get up it's too late here now.  :)

EDIT

Ok I've cleaned out my other drives, downloaded the SP3 update and installed, defragged, reg cleaned and I now get CHKDSK to complete  O0

The bloody add/remove is still blank though ARRRGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!  >:(

I've looked under "user configuration" then to "Window Settings" then   "Administrative templates" Then "Control Panel" then "Add or remove   Programs"

Administrative Templates is next in the tree from Windows settings. Under Administrative templates I only have Windows Components which shows Search, Windows Media and Windows Update no Control Panel and No add Remove progs.  ???

Can you go in the registry and find this:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App Paths

and tell me if anything is listed there.

Then go here and see if any folders are listed under it:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall

All my progs are listed

Then go here and see if any folders are listed under it:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall

Here it lists a load of alpha numerics between {  }
Then follows all my progs
