In this ever growing digital age we live in it gets tougher and tougher to keep track of all your personal info and who has it. For example. Lets say you have to use your passport somewhere for something. The person that reads that now has all your info...or all they need to find out more, maybe even stalk you. Check out this story:

A B.C. border guard who used passport details to hit on women through   Facebook is no longer on duty, according to the Canada Border Services   Agency.
But the CBSA refuses to say if he's still receiving   a paycheque.
On Wednesday, The Vancouver Sun reported the   details of an internal CBSA investigation which found that "on numerous   occasions" a border guard e-mailed himself the names and photographs of   attractive women so he could hit on them later on Facebook.

When I need to show my ID for my age at clubs or for other things, I always cover my name and address with my fingers.
I have had people try to tell me they need to see that information, and I clearly told them that they
do not need to know my name or where I live, they only need to see my pic and my age.

However, a person cannot do that when it comes to their passport and border guards or any other type of gov official.

You're right KuntiSurya all they need to see is the photo and date of birth.
I don't know why they take it off you and have a nice close look.

I'm scared thinking about the lack of privacy we'll have in another 50 years.

We don't  have a lot of privacy today. I doubt there will be any then.
