Try opening up iTunes. Select "Burn Disk" on the bottom. I've had a CD stuck in my Mini before and when I did this, the Mini spit the CD out. Then just cancel the burn.

Nevertheless, when I clicked "Burn", another message says "Disc burner or software not found."
Strange errors - what model Macbook do you have? And what version OS are you using?
Just browsing about re this William and found something similar to your experience hereAs you see its quite Neanderthal but it worked for a few people
I had that happen before but I was able to restart and eject the file. Do you have the latest firmware update? If so or not try re-installing the firmware.
Here are some more here.Another trick is to turn the computer on with no extensions and see if the drive appears. Sometimes the procedure needs to be repeated. Sometimes a good long wait with no power/ battery is good.If it all does not work I think it is a CD drive issue where the computer no longer is noticing the CD drive. I think there may be a problem with the firmware since you mentioned trying to update it. Call apple tell them your problem and ask them how to replace it?
