There are software firewalls available if one wanted the extra security but I find the router firewalls effective enough. What disto of linux were you running gordo? Just curious what everyone likes.

I cut my teeth on PCLinuxOS, Ubuntu  and moved suse for a while.  I wanted to try as many as possible.  For those wanting to dip there toe in the water.  I really liked PCLinuxOS.    On the surface it looks like a windows, but still enough to learn under the hood., I am no expert by any means, but I do love tinkering.
