Very Helpful Apps
« on: May 16, 2010, 05:43:06 AM »
Two very good little applications that I use all the time, one a Stand alone and the other a Browser addon.

1st  Rocketdock:   RocketDock is a smoothly animated, alpha blended application launcher.t provides a nice clean interface to drop shortcuts on for easy access  and organization. With each item completely customizable there is no  end to what you can add and launch from the dock.    Works on Windows 2000/XP/Vista/7

2nd Last Pass   LastPass is a free online password manager and Form Filler that makes  your web browsing easier and more secure. LastPass supports IE and  Firefox as Plugins (Opera, Safari, Chrome, iPhone, Opera Mini via  Bookmarklets), allows you to import from every major password storage  vendor and export too.  Never Lose a web site password ever again.   After a re-install just add the addon to your browser, enter your account details and there are all your saved passwords.   Can be set to auto login you into your chosen sites.

I like rocket dock and have used it before. The other one I am a bit leary about. I like to have control of my passwords and I don't think I would store them online. That's just my opinion of course.

I, too am a big fan of rocket dock, however since i went from xp to vista I have reverted back to using quick launch icons via the task bar. I guess there is already too much Eye candy in vista ultimate (side bar, dreamscene desktops ect.). Rocketdock is a very good little app and it looks good to, maybe i'll have to pick it up again.

I like TCP/IP Optimizer, always seems to speed up slow net connections.

Yes I like this as well. I'm using it now actually. :) Not that my connection is slow but now it's a bit faster.

I don't trust online storage of personal data. You never know who's behind it.
