IE9 Public Preview
« on: May 07, 2010, 01:11:08 PM »
On Wednesday Microsoft released it's second public preview of it's new IE9 web browser. The main purpose of this preview is to show off the HTML 5, SVG, and JavaScript functionality. From what is being said there is no doubt MS will make full use of their Direct2D rendering system. Because it is an open API other browsers may make or realize they have to do the same and add this to their own platforms.

More on IE9 can be read here. The public preview can be downloaded here. Have fun with it and if you have time leave your own review here in this thread.

What you could do is partition a drive and install W7. ;)

I have been looking forward to this for a while because of whats new in HTML5. Here are some of the proposed additions to the functionality of HTML5.

there is also supposed to be a new <video> tag which should be pretty cool if it gets adopted by all the popular browsers out there. I still use IE anyway but i realize i'm probably in the minority, however, im not real impressed with firefox since the last beta.

Probably does. As far as I can tell on my end it is opposite. FF displays everything great while IE is the bugger to get pages to show right. Maybe it also has something to do with all the plugins I have installed in FF.
