Ahah! Well done Europe's Competition Commission. About time. Many people use IE because don't know the other offers.
I drop IE 3 years ago. Only use Opera and Firefox. And sometimes Chrome.
But IE? Nevermore.

But I have to wonder, will they still act how they are supposed to? Or will it be like that stupid thing M$ released that mucked up things with FireFox?

I use M$ stuff, but doesn't mean I like or trust them. There has to be something in it for them.
Hmm maybe they are conducting research to make a better IE.. yea right  :D

But if it does work, cool.

It is good news that another browser can be chosen, as in my opinion, it was wrong to have a web browser so integrated into the system as that seems to be where most people start running into problems.. maybe having third party software choices that can't or won't be as integrated as IE was in the past will avoid some of the more annoying security issues.. of course I use linux 99.9% of the time myself, but I do worry for those that come to me with their computers to fix..

I rarely use IE but do have it installed for testing and such.

been thinking about installing chrome frame in my sites myself.. i do adore firefox, but google chrome is growing on me and i've been thinking about adding a little code to force those still using IE to install chrome frame (plugin for IE that lets you use google chrome in IE) which should be pretty seamless once installed, and would give the user a faster and more compliant browsing experience while still letting them hold on desperately to IE.. the download link for the plugin as well as the code for websites is included at the main website link below..

Not a bad idea but do you think that some would find it annoying to be nagged to install something when they visit your site. ??? (Just a question) :)
