I would think by now you have all see my posts about getting a new video card. So far it's the biggest one I have had. I must say I am impressed...to an extent. I will start off by saying I am a nVidia man. I used to be into ATI a long while back.
What really surprised me was there was no fan on this unit. For as big as it was all it had was a
heatsink. Another fact I found a bit weird was it needs 300 watts or better to run. I'm not to sure what mine is but I think I will be updating it soon, lol.
The graphics in any game I have played so far are amazing. FarCry 2 and Fallout 3 are two games I am getting into now just because of this card. I have a feeling I will be getting into a few more.
One thing that does trouble me. This card works great on Window Xp Pro. I would think the same would be true for Xp Home and later versions of Windows, and probably vista as well with a bit of tweaking.
What really got me was I can't seem to get it to work with Win7 (YET) I have tried most of the drivers out there and this card just seems to slow everything down.
CPU usage is at 100% most of the time.
All in all this is a good card and I will get it to work on Win7. I shouldn't have this many problems though. Any way, I picked this card up on sale for 69 dollars Canadian. I have heard it can be found for less on the net and other places. It is not top of the line but these days what really is. Here are the specs:
