Stand alone Calendar
« on: February 28, 2010, 05:49:08 PM »
My computers are set up for web browsing, office/school type stuff, and well DLing. I also usually am either a part owner, or admin or sysop on a smf website, of some sorts, where I made a fair amount of tutorials
When I first turned on my win7 laptop, but after doing all the recovery disks and updates, the first thing I started to look at was the stuff I always use, making sure it has everything I need.

So when I started to look for my calendar, like the one Vista has, and I could not find it, I thought well maybe it is turned off somewhere and I just need to find out how to turn it on. Googled win7 calendar.
WTF  >:( they removed it. They suggest people use windows live calendar. Well, that might be fine if a person always has net connections, but what is the chances of that on a laptop? Or a laptop on a plane?

So I am looking for a stand alone calendar for win7, can anyone suggest one that is like the Vista calendar?  :'( please..

yup, there is a tiny one, suitable for the SideBar (if there was still a SideBar  >:( ) last I checked anyway, which was last week, but will look again.

The Vista calendar, in case nobody has ever used it, is like a full size, desktop calendar. Has alerts, popup and is an ADD persons best friend. I use it for all my appointments, reminders, and schedules. I set a reminder for when I am studying and take a break to play around on line. Reminder pops up, I go back to studying. Or if I am studying and I have something in the oven, I set a reminder that way. etc.

Thanks BigGuy, but I am sure it will come down to having to find a separate piece of software for a friggan calendar. Only problem is, I have not been able to find one.  :'(

OMG!! Thank you! You have no idea how much I love this thing! Someone actually snagged and converted the calendar it looks like from the setup. I have been looking for months for any kind of stand alone. Now I just need to fiddle with it and get it into my laptop.

Have you used these sites before? or should I be on high alert when I am downloading it? Have you tested it?

I upped the edit time but it was already at 6 hours after posting so I didn't put it up that much.
